Update on Kimberly
Kimberly is going to Sikeston four times a week for speech therapy, she has been going since the end of July. She has learned several vowel sounds and can even say a few words (when she decides she wants to). Bye Bye is the first word she said. She also understands several words you say to her (no being one of them, but not one she seems to like..haha). She is very comfortable with her sign language, so one of things we are having to work on is getting her to use her voice. Her speech therapist says she is doing very good and that she is a very, intelligent, little girl (of course, we knew that). And she says she has every confidence that Kimberly will learn to speak! Sometimes people wonder why she isn't talking now that she has sound (because they know she's 2), they forget babies with hearing don't instantly start talking (I even forget sometimes). Kimberly has now had her implant 6 months, and a baby at six months is not saying a whole lot not to mention isn't talking in full sentences. So anyway, we are thrilled with her progress and happy to know that she is hearing. We are just so happy for her!
